Better IT are a full service Information technology provider based in Thurmaston. Providing server space, professional web design and technical support to businesses in the region and nationwide, Better IT was experiencing an increase in temperature of their hardware and in the surrounding and adjacent rooms. As a result of trying to cool the area, the company was experiencing high energy bills, and its equipment wasn’t functioning to its maximum capacity.
The Glenfield Group was brought in to provide a permanent solution to the over-heating of the IT hardware. Following an onsite consultation, the Group installed a stand-alone air conditioning unit to reduce air temperature in the affected areas.
David Nichols, managing director, Better IT Solutions said “We have been delighted with the results of installing an air conditioning unit to keep our equipment cool. In terms of cost, our energy bills have dropped by £500 per quarter, saving us on average £2,000 a year, more than paying for the initial outlay on equipment.”
